The man at the desk will ask for name and profession. He
will indicate genuine surprise no matter what the characters say. He will write their
details on individual pieces of paper (Give them handout PH-010). He will then ask them to
go into the tent behind him. |

They must sign up to the end of the conflict. |

Explain that they will be considered part of the military,
be commanded as such and subject to the same rules about discipline, desertion, etc. Their
wages will be 1 GP per day. |

Their blip will be kept at Hel Churl until they return to
pick it up. They can keep it at the port or in the city. They will be given a receipt for
it. (Give them handout PH 011) |

If the players want to see any one of higher authority they
will at first be refused. If they persist then the guard will go and get the General (from
encounter HCA004). The General will tell them that the army is only interested in people
who want to join it. If the party join they will be given a special unit and special
tasks. But they will still be under the command of the army. If they offer to use their
blip as part of the armed forces he will accept. He still tells them to join the army and
come and see him after they have joined. He is an uncle of. Hang Bu Fang, leader of Hel

clothing. He will do everything by the book. He is not interested in idle chatter, only
getting the job done. |

The players are free to go and do what they want. They may
return at a later stage and actually join the army. |
