Hel Churl 008

Days 1 to end

HC 008

(City of Hel Churl) The central fortress of Hel Churl is an imposing structure. It is built as a series of four concentric circles, each one higher and slightly smaller than the one below. The walls appear to be made of a single block of stone with arrow slits moulded into the upper levels. The highest level appears to be a city in itself with many pagodas and spires rising above the line of the walls. The fortress has a main gate which is 50' wide.

(Inside the main gate) Once through the gate, you come to an area two hundred feet in diameter. Leading off this area at the compass points are three other doors. The door directly ahead is open. The doors to the left and right are both shut and guarded by four guards.

The entrance to the fortress is always open. There are guards standing on duty but they will not stop and check anyone unless directly provoked.
Inside is an area 200 feet in diameter. Three other paths lead off. To the left is a locked and guarded door. Occasionally a noble and his entourage will go through this gate. Straight ahead is an open door. Through this goes most of the traffic. To the right is a locked and guarded door. Occasionally a group of guarded slaves will go through this gate.
In the city (straight ahead) the players can get anything non-magical at one of the hundreds of stores which make up the ground level city. Any character can set up a stall of any type they like. There are empty stalls they can use. The stalls cost 1 GP per day to rent. There is a stall office near the main gate.

Noble Gate. (The left gate.)

If they leave the city. Days 1 to 6. If they leave the city. Day 7. If they leave the city. Days 8 to end.
Slave Gate. (The right gate.) Travel with the army from day 7. If they fight. Fly to the nobles' section.
