Wing Ting Mai 014

Days 20 to end

(City)

The city lies before the players. To the left is the market and to the right is the dock arm Ahead they can see a tower looming over the roofs. There is commotion running through the city. The people are all very alert and nervous. The market is full of people buying food and basic supplies. There are a good number of guards moving through the city. All the major intersections have guards on them. The city guards are on watch for spies sent by Wing Ting Mai's enemies. If the party ask the guards questions about Wu Tze Lee they will answer but then enquire of the party's business. Any non-military answer will suffice. Otherwise they will be escorted to the gates and asked to leave. They would be able to reenter the city the next day.
The peasants will answer one or two questions before running off to finish their business.
The peasants and city workers are friendly and happy to talk. They know the following information:
Wing Ting Mai is the Lord of the City.
The city is called Wing Ting Mai and Wing Ting Mai is a magician.
He was born here and took over the city many years ago.
He is an arrogant bully not to be aggravated, toyed with etc.
No one knows who his father is.
The junks are used to transport goods to the capital.
They are rowed by Wing Ting Mai's slaves.
Wu Tze Lee was the Imperial Magician and stole the opals.
The slaves are kept in cells under the guards quarters.
One opal is in the city with Wing Ting Mai.
Wu Tze Lee is dead. He was killed by the Imperial Bureaucracy.
There are not as many guards around as usual. Wing Ting Mai has sent half of his garrison to help Wu Tze Lee. The garrison has been reduced to 15 lieutenants, 40 sergeants and 900 guards.
The eastern part of the city has housing for the city workers. This includes servants for the rich, store owners, market stall owners and guards. This housing is simple but comfortable and is better than the peasant housing outside. They have timber walls and thatched roofs. Some people can always be found in this area.

If they leave.

Fight in the city.
